SACRAMENTO MAGAZINE - Fill the Boot for Burns Boot Drive

Help support the Firefighters Burn Institute by making a donation during the “Fill the Boot for Burns” Boot Drive this weekend at Sunrise Mall.  Sacramento area firefighters will be out on the streets, boots in tow, from sunup to sundown until 4pm on Monday.  The drive kicks off at noon on Friday when Sacramento Metro Fire Captains Forrest Rowell and Mike Daw climb an aerial ladder in preparation of a four-day stay 100 feet high above Sunrise Boulevard.

Other weekend events include a Safety Fair on Saturday from 11am to 2pm and a Media Challenge on Saturday from 9am to 10am, where local media celebs compete against one another to see who can raise the most money.

The Firefighters Burn Institute assists with burn prevention, burn care and research, educational programs and burn recovery programs such as kids’ camps for burn survivors.  For more information, log onto Ffburn.org.
