Sacramento Capitals Name New General Manager
Seasoned Sports Management Professional and Former Capitals Owner, Jayna Osborne, to Head Caps Management Team
(Sacramento, CA) – The Sacramento Capitals have named a new general manager to head the team’s operations in preparation for their 27th season in the World TeamTennis Pro League presented by GEICO, which begins on the road July 9.
Jayna Osborne, former co-owner of the Capitals from 1993 through 1999, has been tapped to assume the role of General Manager for the team, which was recently vacated by Matt McEvoy. Osborne is no stranger to the demands of the job, having previously served as General Manager for the Capitals from 1993 to 1999 while then a co-owner of the team.
“Jayna brings a wealth of sports management experience to the position of General Manager for the Sacramento Capitals. Having previously served in this capacity for a number of years, she has hit the ground running in her new role. We are expecting a seamless transition for our staff, players, sponsors and fans,” said Ramey Osborne, Capitals Managing General Partner.
Jayna was instrumental to the success of the team in the early years, helping the franchise to bring home three of their League record six championship titles. We are looking forward to bringing home a seventh WTT Championship title under her direction,” he added.
The Capitals also have also announced their 2012 management team. The experienced team includes, Bill Cho, player services manager; Gracie Ryan, marketing director; Tenette Cho, season ticket manager; and Blayde Bynum, sponsorship manager. All team members have experience managing tennis events and are avid tennis players.
The Capitals begin the season on the road against the Boston Lobsters on July 9, followed a second match on the road July 10 against the Philadelphia Freedoms. The Capitals home opener on Thursday, July 12 against the Kansas City Explorers will feature world-renowned tennis star Mardy Fish as the Caps marquee player. Fish will also be featured the following night, Friday, July 13, versus the Orange County Breakers.
Sacramento Capitals individual match tickets and three match packages are now available at www.saccaps.com. Prices for individual tickets start at $25 and three-match packages begin at $60. Children’s tickets will be available for $15. All matches are played at Sunrise MarketPlace Outdoor Pavilion at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights. Doors open at 6pm for Happy Hour, Match time is 7:35pm.
