Citrus Heights PAL (CHPAL) Participants Have Opportunity to Meet, Learn from Tennis Star at Charity Clinic



WHAT:

Youth Tennis Clinic for Citrus Heights PAL (CHPAL) program participants led by Martina Hingis, of the visiting World TeamTennis (WTT) New York Sportimes. The complimentary clinic is hosted by the WTT Sacramento Capitals.

WHEN:

Friday, June 8

3:30 pm – participants begin to arrive

4:00 pm – clinic begins

Martina Hingis

Hingis spent 209 weeks at the World´s No. 1 women´s spot during her career, winning five Grand Slam singles titles and nine Grand Slam women´s doubles titles. She currently plays World TeamTennis (WTT) for the New York Sportimes.

 

CHPAL

The CHPAL is a non-profit organization committed to fostering positive relationships, based on trust and respect, between youth and law enforcement through activities and programs.

The organization, which has been in operation for a little over a year, serves boys and girls ages 5-17 who reside in the Citrus Heights area, and offers a variety of athletic opportunities aimed at building relationships with children in the community. Current programs include tennis, wrestling, baseball, roller derby, camping and hiking. 

Sacramento Capitals

The Sacramento Capitals are one of the most successful franchises in the WTT, having won six championships.  Now, in their 26th season, the Caps return to their former home at Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights to battle for their 7th WTT championship title. The Capitals home-season opener is Friday, July 8 against the WTT New York Sportimes. The Capital’s roster includes Mark Knowles, Vania King, Dusan Vemic and Sacramento native, Yasmin Schnack.
